By being “invested” in American History I sincerely hope that means you are reading our History. I also hope that you are reading good scholarly books that deal in the complexity of what our founding father achieved. Read often, read deeply, read quality scholarly books. ✌️

@herbsuperb6034 Scholarly, is my way of saying a true expert on the topic. History, will always have a flavor imparted by any writer but as long as the information remains factual the read is good. When I purchase a history book I am not looking for bias confirmation but illuminating knowledge. I don’t know your age or how often or deeply you read but over time you will know when an author is writing poorly and has a propaganda agenda. One of the most fascinating Rabbit Holes I ever went down on the topic of the founding fathers was their individual religious views. It turns out they were everything to basic fundamentalists to agnostic or atheist. What was fascinating is just how complex and varied the topic of religion was for our founding fathers. Again, I wish you well. Read often, read deeply, read well researched books, and always avoid authors with blatant agendas. ✌️

@herbsuperb6034 If you combine a solid knowledge of European Religious History with the struggles the founding fathers were going through you began to understand what might have been motivating various prominent writers of our Constitution. For example, is the Treaty of Tripoli (particularly article 11) definitive proof that the founding fathers meant for America to be strictly secular? What a fun Rabbit Hole this question can be. ✌️
