They say that he didn’t seek a corrupt political bargain with Ukraine, but that if he did, he failed, and the mere attempt is not impeachable.   4. Stephanie B. Thank you for playing along. It is far more complicated than you described. For example, you said “elected Representatives must do the wishes of the people”. So as a Republic our representatives need to impeach Treasonous Trump as more than 50% of Americans “wish” it so. Between 60 - 70% of Americans want our Representatives to do something to reign in drug prices and over priced Healthcare and a large majority of Americans support DACA. The strange thing is that our Republican Representatives do not wish to comply with our wishes. So are we a Republic or something else?

So elected officials don’t have to “do” the “wishes” of the people? They get “elected” to do the “wishes” of the people, but once elected they “don’t” have to do the wishes of the people - that sounds very Alt Republican.
