Only 10% of the failed Mortgages were held by FANNIE MAE & GINNIE MAE, the remainder of toxic mortgages were bundled up it to Tranches, Miss Labeled as Investment Grade, and “backed up with Derivative Insurance from AIG. A few Investment firms had internal reports that clearly stated that these investments were toxic (Goldman Sachs) but still passed these Derivatives off on the unsuspecting public as “can’t loose investments”. In short Wall Street went nuts making money and transferring wealth though what everyone new were “Lier Loans”, “Arts & Crafts Loans”, or just plain “Crooked Loans”. Wall Street made over $600 billion in bonuses during the Hay Day - the Bail Out Cost $800 Billion and Change. How was all this legal and possible? Banking Deregulation led by Republicans, just like Trump is doing today.
