DeSantis is the Cuomo of Florida. He hid infections, made it impossible to know the true number of deaths, and fired or muzzled anyone who spoke honestly to the press. Florida is 3rd behind New York and California for COVID Deaths and has a much smaller population.

@philiplippens2690 Did you read any of your own newspapers on the Florida’s Governor’s lies? Of course you didn’t, because MAGA Morons don’t read, don’t research, and don’t reason. These are the very qualities that define you.

@Noah Talley Secrecy and spin: How Florida’s governor misled the public on the COVID-19 pandemic By MARIO ARIZA, DAVID FLESHLER and CINDY KRISCHER GOODMAN SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL | DEC 03, 2020 AT 5:53 PM Throughout the COVID-19 crisis in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration engaged in a pattern of spin and concealment that misled the public on the gravest health threat the state has ever faced, a South Florida Sun Sentinel investigation has found. DeSantis, who owes his job to early support from President Donald Trump, imposed an approach in line with the views of the president and his powerful base of supporters. The administration suppressed unfavorable facts, dispensed dangerous misinformation, dismissed public health professionals, and promoted the views of scientific dissenters who supported the governor’s approach to the disease.

@Noah Talley Miami Herald News MAY 08, 2020 06:00 AM, UPDATED MAY 08, 2020 09:34 AM Despite criticism and calls for him to stop heavily censoring records, Gov. Ron DeSantis has decided to keep the public in the dark about several coronavirus public interest issues. It’s a misguided move designed to control information — and the messaging on how the pandemic is impacting the state.

@Noah Talley The Guardian June 26, 2020 Florida governor under fire over claims state is 'cooking the books' on Covid-19 The claim from the state’s former leading Covid-19 data scientist comes as Florida smashed its own one-day record for new cases of the disease on Friday with 8,942, after two successive days above 5,000 – by far the highest figures since the pandemic began. The situation in Florida is part of a widespread surge of infections across broad swathes of the US, especially in states – often run by Republicans – which have rushed to reopen their economies.
