  1. William Barr: “ I will do anything for Trump, but he won’t do that”

Attorney General William P. Barr was willing to write a misleadingly pro-Trump summary of the Mueller report.
He was willing to overlook Trump’s of obstruction of justice even though special counsel Robert S. Mueller III hadn’t.
He was willing to use Trump’s “no collusion” talking points even though Mueller said he wasn’t ruling on collusion.
He was willing to launch a Trump-requested investigation into the origins of the probe into Russian election interference that his predecessor resisted.
He was willing to go overseas to pressure foreign countries to cooperate with that probe.
His Justice Department intervened in a way that initially helped the White House keep a whistleblower complaint from Congress.
It also declined to investigate the complaint, despite Barr being named in it.
There is plenty Barr and his Justice Department have been willing to do that, at the least, blurs the lines between an independent law enforcement agency and one that protects the president who appointed Barr. But we appear to have stumbled upon one thing Barr’s DOJ won’t do: completely go to bat for Trump on the Ukraine controversy.
