In your ironic list you managed to nail a couple of near truths. I take it by your response you are not a reader and do not have a knowledge of history. America has seen Oligarchs, Robber Barons, and Monopolies before, early 20th Century. A Republican Teddy Roosevelt fixed some of the problem with Trust Busting and Regulation. This was back when Republicans tended to be honest and Democrats tended to be corrupt and racist - Southern Blue Dog Democrats. Over time Teddy’s fix has been forgotten, Republicans have become corrupt and racist, and Democrats have become more honest and not racist. The switch started in the 60s. Yes, Republicans are primarily to blame here because of their undying faith in free markets - free markets only work with honest corporations, lots of competition, and good government oversight through regulation and enforcement. Some Democrats have sold their soul to corporations but Republicans hold the record for lock step resistance to any market interventions. Example, why is Medicaid/Medicare not allowed to negotiate drug prices? Answer: The Patriot Act. Say what? Yup, the Patriot Act. It also, prohibits the re importation of drugs sold by American Pharmaceutical companies to Canada and Mexico at bargain prices. Who would make such an amendment? Republicans. So much for run government like a business. Bottom line is, that Trump is just another person who talks big and means nothing on this issue.

Dearly Diane I am not so sure Hillary can’t be bought but not to this level. This is Democrat problem but a Republican cardinal sin. The free market does not work in our current Health Care System. All the Aces in the deck are held by Drug Companies, Hospitals, Health Care Providers, and Insurance Companies.
I had a bad reaction to a new drug I was to start and we called 911. My wife could not get me to the car and thus hospital. After receiving a shot that countered my reaction everything was good. Went home within an hour of the shot. In summary, $1,500 for ambulance, $2.000 for the 5 minutes it to the doctor to give me a shot, and $5,000 for the 2 hour hospital stay. I say Bullshit on the outrageous cost of care. Next time, God forbid, I think I will just take my chances.
