9justify Rapes and murders are completely different. A murder does not require a complaining witness. A rape does. India doesn't have less reported rapes because less rapes happen. They have less reported rapes because nobody dares to come forward and make out a complaint. A dead body is much harder to hide than a rape.

9justify Sarcasm or not, it's still retarded. The original point is spot on because murder rates are almost impossible to fudge. Rapes, as I have explained, are a whole different discussion. Gun control does jack shit to control homicide rates. Nobody can demonstrate a clear before and after affect. On the other hand, I can show that rolling back gun control in Florida has dropped their homicide rate by 80% in about a decade.

Jack Rice Because clearly, nobody in Latin America has any responsibility for their own actions... Right?

***** You forgot Chiraq... Drew Gaughan You also forget that not all that long ago, Canada DID confiscate hundreds of thousands of legally acquired firearms after a simple government fiat made them illegal. You also forget that you have no constitutional protections for your freedom of speech, nor do you have a right to keep and bear arms. Given the population density difference between the US and Canada, comparing the two is disingenuous at best. In fact, if you compare Canada to areas of the US with comparable population densities (such as the state of Vermont) Canada does not come out ahead. In the US, we have these things called "rights". Things that the government has zero right or authority to infringe upon regardless of the baying of the mob.

Drew Gaughan Yeah... Your "charter" is not an absolute protection. That fact has been proven time and time again.

Drew Gaughan Please show me that part of the Bill of Rights that guarantees a right to privacy... I'll wait.

Drew Gaughan The logic is that your government violates a right it claims to provide. Ours does not.

9justify You're an idiot. Did you perhaps consider that in a country where rape laws are not as stringent the incidents might, perhaps, be under reported? Even in the US, with all the legal protections given to a victim, less than 50% ever come forward. What do you think that percentage is in India?

9justify And we don't particularly care if the durka durkas or drug dealers take over yours. Have fun.
