Yeah... Because the TSA is doing such a spectacular job... They have a less than 5% success rate. Simple fact is, we need to eliminate unconstitutional prohibitions on concealed carry at airports and on airplanes, problem solved.

Moduhlize Again, you clearly have no idea how airplanes are made. The windows on a plane are not as fragile as you might think. I picked 9mm because it has the highest velocity and therefore the best penetration of common handgun rounds. A .45 doesn't have the velocity to penetrate very far. Neither does a .40. Do you think people are going to be toting .500 S&W hand cannons on their hips? Oh, and I'm a hoot at parties. I can generally destroy bullshit with one or two facts.

***** Yes... Yes I should. But let's be honest, the cary ban has jack shit to do with companies. It's federal law. You could legally carry a concealed weapon onto a plane well into the 1960s.

***** If my home is a business open to the public, yes. Since it's not, expect to get ventilated.

MikhailZavarov Or better yet, let the terrorists play the guessing game. They don't know who on a plane may be packing a Glock on their hip until they try something and wind up with high velocity lead poisoning.

***** Public accommodations are a thing. Property rights do not trump civil rights when you hang out a shingle. That's settled law.
2
***** Got an argument to make libertard? By hanging out a shingle and opening your business to the public, you wave your right to decide who you will and will not serve.
2
Samatar Ahmed No, I'm a USMC combat engineer with an aerospace engineering degree. I've forgotten more about warfare than you know.
2
***** They actually are already made to be highly impact resistant. Far more so than most brands of "bulletproof" glass.

***** http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/tsa-missed-95-percent-of-weapons-explosives-in-security-text/article/2565360 The TSA couldn't protect an airport from a well motivated group of Boy Scouts.

Moduhlize Depends on the type of material used. If you're talking lexan... Yeah... There's also numerous types of artificial sapphire and aluminum oxides. (Yes, transparent aluminum is a thing now.)
2
Moduhlize We're talking about HANDGUN rounds here. They can be stopped by freaking FIBERS. Why? Because sectional density is a thing. The surface area of the bullet is too large to effectively penetrate barriers given the available energy. What's more, this situation is made even MORE problematic by the fact that self defense ammo is designed to have a HIGHER sectional density than what is found in ball rounds. On top of all that, these rounds are designed to EXPAND on contact with a barrier thus reducing their ability to penetrate even more. I hate to break this to you, but the windows on airliners are DESIGNED to withstand impact from debris coming at them at handgun round velocities (or damn near there). The only way to penetrate a window like that is a short range impact at a perpendicular angle. Something that is 1. Not likely, and 2. Does not cause a catastrophic failure even then.
2
Moduhlize Other than, you know, the 2nd amendment.
2
Moduhlize Yeah... No. By that logic I should be able to declare my business a "civil rights free zone" and bring back slavery. So sorry. Fundamental rights don't work that way.
2
Moduhlize Irrelevant. A right is a right. The type of business does not negate rights.
2
Moduhlize Keep thinking that as we roll back gun control across the country and destroy the TSA via a conservative SCotUS.
2
Moduhlize Yeah... Good luck with that. The difference between guns and Islam is that Islam is an ideology. You can kill an ideology. You can't kill an idea.
2
Moduhlize Oh really? Seen a lot of Zoroastrians or Gnostics around have you?
2
Moduhlize Wow... Way to miss the point. What do you think a crusade is?
2
Moduhlize Yes... We'll replace Islam with something that doesn't glorify child molestation and mass murder.
2
Moduhlize Wow... and you call ME "unrealistic"... How about we start with the people driving trucks through crowds?
2
Moduhlize Yeah... Good luck with that. I'm sure militant atheism will take off any day now.
2
Moduhlize ... and that is why you fail.
2
Moduhlize Because you lack the inherent humility of knowing that there are ultimate consequences for your actions.
2
Moduhlize Yeah... Christianity has our crazies under control, Islam is encouraging theirs. If you don't see the difference between refusing to make a gay wedding cake and throwing gays off of buildings, you are seriously fucked in the head.
2
Moduhlize So the fact that Lanza was "christian" should completely negate the fact that religion was not in any way related to his behavior while Islamic terrorism is encouraged by Islam? Really?
2
Moduhlize Except that the core of modern Christianity is the New Testament, not the Old Testament. If you're going to use the Old Testament as your ballpark your issue is with Judaism, not Christianity.
2
Moduhlize Yeah... Keep thinking that. Modern science does not disprove God, only gives us a peek at his tool box. Not to mention the fact that modern western social norms of behavior are almost 100% derived from Christian teachings.
2
Moduhlize Yeah... Keep thinking that. Which one of us has a law degree and an MBA.
2
Moduhlize Yup... Early 30s. Make more than your entire family combined.
2
Moduhlize Adam Lanza was just plain NUTS. He was a liberal snowflake who should have been locked up with the other nutjobs. There is a difference between association and causation. Learn it snowflake.
