Holy fucking propaganda Batman. If you don't want your city to flood, don't build it BELOW SEA LEVEL. The reason Katrina was as bad as it was had nothing to do with "loss of wetlands" and everything to do with a corrupt Democratic Mayor who embezzled funds and botched the response by refusing to hand over authority. Oh, and when he realized how bad he fucked up, he violated the inalienable rights of thousands of his citizens by having privately owned guns confiscated at gunpoint.

Edgy Bloke I'm fairly sure that the Netherlands are not known for their regular and predictable hurricane season.

Erik3E You mean the same oil and modern industry that have give the planet the highest standard of living in human history?
2
Edgy Bloke You can, provided your country isn't run by corrupt embezzling Democrats. Hell, you can do a fairly good job against tsunamis as well. Just look at Japan.

John Smith I'm saying that it's irrelevant because the needs of our society for oil far outweigh a few minor inconveniences. Climate change, real or imagined is a stupid reason to destroy our economy.

John Smith Ok... You fail basic physics and economics forever. 1. The ozone layer is in better shape today than at any time in the past century. 2. UV radiation (which is the only thing that Ozone affects) does nothing for or against global warming. 3. The rest of the world pollutes far worse than we do. Look at China for an excellent example. About 70% of smog in LA comes from Chinese sources. 4. The "clean energy" you refer to does not exist. Solar panels are a good thing, but they don't provide the energy generation we require. There is no no physical way we can crack the supply problem without fission or fusion energy. Other "green" sources just don't generate the levels of power a modern society need. 5. What the hell do taxes have to do with anything? The way I see it, 80% of the federal budget serves no legitimate purpose. It's not the government's job to take care of anyone. Then again, I should expect as much from someone who has the picture of a racist mass murderer as their avatar.

GiantGenesse Fucktard. Solyndra ring a bell? I have a degree in Aerospace engineering. The simple fact is that solar just does not provide the level of power that is necessary to run a 21st century society. It can't. The math just doesn't work. The Demokkkrats have caused far more market failures than they prevented. The housing bubble ring a bell? Guess who forced banks to lend money to unqualified applicants out of political correctness?

Edward Bernayse666 I have yet to see evidence that we have to do a damn thing. The occasional freak of nature is a bad reason to wreck a national economy.

GiantGenesse The simple fact is that there is no agreement on the source of this climate change. The 93% stat that liberals keep throwing around is a work of fiction. If you write a grant proposal to study "global warming" do you honestly think that you'll publish results that show that "global warming" does not exist and threaten your chances to get another grant when your current one expires? Really? The reality is that the science on the matter is still very much up in the air. The economics of hippie anti-capitalism are rather obvious. The reality is that the US lost most of its manufacturing base because retarded hippies wanted to make the planet "greener" and instead forced companies to export manufacturing jobs and hurt our economies.

John Smith As I said, you fail basic physics. Ozone does nothing to protect against "Global Warming" it only blocks UV radiation which does not have thermal effects. I find it ironic that you accuse me of not knowing the science when you don't even understand how ozone works.
1
John Smith UV rays have nothing to do with the discussion of climate change. Claiming otherwise proves that you are ignorant of the science. Fun fact, fossil fuels have nothing to do with ozone depletion. CO2 does not interact with ozone. Certain refrigerants and other chemicals caused ozone depletion, but that is a completely different issue. (One that has been solved as the Ozone layer is actually better off now than at any point after WWII.) http://www.weather.com/science/environment/news/ozone-hole-closing-nasa

GiantGenesse ... and here we go with the racist adhominems. Yup. Your argument is obviously so sound that it requires you to sling racial slurs to support it. Go fuck yourself.
1
John Smith I'm not going to take lessons from someone who uses the portrait of a genocidal racist on the meaning of racial slurs. Oh and Hawking is a physicist, not a climatologist. I don't care about his opinion on this any more than I would care about his opinion on his favorite unicycle model.

... and retards blocked.
1
Erik3E Oh, that's rich. Death threats from "tolerant" liberals...
1
Erik3E Somehow, I don't think that I'm the one who needs to worry. You support actions that would destroy the world economy and consign billions of people to starvation or slavery. Good job.
