Erik3E Except for the part where it's not Ukrainian soil. Not now, and never was. Ukraine illegally seized the territory in the 90s and used armed force to prevent the locals from exercising their human right to self-determination. Both both those are war crimes.

Jason K Yes... Jason, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with a fundamental moral objection to supporting a government that deals with protesters by rolling out the artillery... [/sarc]

nikolas aylta There are no British citizens. Only subjects.

Erik3E Do you know how Donbas and the Crimea became a part of Ukraine? Do you know when? It might surprise you.
1
Erik3E So you claim that Ukraine has some right to territory that was handed to it by communist fiat less than 50 years ago and was, up until then, a part of Russia? More right to it than the people who actually live there?
1
Erik3E Actually, smart one, it was a part of the Russian Empire starting in the 1700s and a part of the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic afterwards. It's like if the US handed over a part of Texas to Arizona, then broke up into individual states only a few decades later. Does Texas no longer have a right to the land? What about the Texans who live there?
1
Erik3E You might want to let Mexico know that we'll be returning most of the south west next week then. (or did you forget how we got Texas in the first place. Here's a hint: It's a lot like how Russia got Crimea.) But you didn't answer the key question. What about the people who live there? Don't they get a say in the matter?

Erik3E You mean how there were no US troops in Texas during their war for independence? Also, please provide concrete proof that there is a single on-duty Russian regular in Donbas. I would LOVE to see that evidence that has apparently been hidden from the CIA and MI6.

manjelos Except that that's not what the reports on the ground show. Show me one concrete piece of verified evidence of on-duty Russian regulars in Donbas... For a Russian spec-ops team, they seem awfully poorly equipped.

Erik3E You do realize that Palestinians have more modern artillery than Grads? Right? Those things were obsolete before the Gulf War was a thing. They are a copy of a WWII design for crying out loud. Show me the night vision, suppressors, combat optics, UAVs, attack helicopters, etc... Hell, anything developed by the Soviet Union or Russia within the lifetime of most of the combatants. (let's say 1980 onwards to make things simple) The reality is that the war is being fought with what, in the US, would have been sold off as military surplus before most of the bleeding heart pussies supporting the Kiev Junta were born. Hell, they don't even have decent MANPADS or the Ukrainians would not dare bring out their own airpower. Don't forget that when Russia pushed back the Georgian invasion they rolled over their entire country in less than a week.
1
manjelos Which of those did they have when they stormed their regional offices? Me thinks none. In fact, for the first few months they barely had small arms. In fact, it wasn't until Ukraine refused to negotiate and honor the local secession vote that things got out of hand. The Junta in Kiev brought this on themselves. I hope the rebels take the city and hang them all up by their genitals on the Khreshchatyk as an example to the next generation of corrupt toadies.

Erik3E Yes... Because not supporting a tyrannical dictatorship in Kiev is totally the same thing as supporting another tyrannical dictatorship in Moscow. Grow up.

Your translation is wonky. At 4:10 he was saying he would be "angry" for life, not "evil"... Might want to get your translator checked out. That's not a minor mistake.
