  3. There is no such thing as an "accidental" discharge with any gun made after 1950 or so. It is designed to be mechanically impossible. For the gun to go bang, you need to put your booger hook on the bang switch.

Hell, your most common hunting rifles use a Mauser action identical to the most common rifles of WWI and WWII. I'm actually far less concerned about a guy with an AR slung over his shoulder than some guy with a Glock shoved down the front of his pants.

A snatch and grab IS a violent felony because it involves an assault. I can't see a way that someone can steal anything from you without breaking into your home or assaulting you first.

Such circumstances grant you complete criminal and civil immunity from prosecution provided you can prove that a violent felony did or was about to take place.
