  10. John Lannister The Galileo case is a lot more nuanced than modern atheist bigots would have you believe. He didn't get in trouble for his science. Heliocentrism had been accepted for centuries. What got him in trouble was using his "science" to push a political agenda.

While today that might be acceptable, had he done so to any other sovereign at the time (and yes, the pope was both head of church and a head of state at the time), he would have been executed, not just confined and made to retract his statements.

  12. Except when the minorities hijack the judicial system and have the courts write law as they did in on the "gay marriage" issue. There is no constitutional right to marriage. It appears nowhere in the constitution. As such, the federal court has no authority to treat it as such.
