Really glad that you started this. So we can have a fair analysis that other non-Chinese speaking audiences have the opportunity to understand this complexed world better. Thanks for your hard work, your courage and wisdom. :-) Have a very happy and healthy 2022!

Glad that you pick up this comparison topic. There is another channel that keeps posting China films from old decades but twisting the facts by saying how peaceful and satisfactory Chinese felt since 1950, including during the Cultural Revolution and how problematic life was under KMT controlling eras. Full of lies…

Bravo!

There are many more like Zu and Gu in other fields, though they may not have openly changed their citizenships. The key is people forgot how the CCP treated their own generals, and highly devoted officials and scientists, etc in history. The history will be repeating…

It all depends on what kind of families the individuals come from, some families are more resilient and kept traditions better than others, and thus provide better upbringing. It’s never a good idea to generalize a population, even though your point of CCP ruined the tradition and culture is correct.

And please for the world, too, that’s been threatened by it.

An excellent family-village analogy on China! But Mr. Washington’s decision is not complete. The real problem is not many of our media see Mr. BJ as such a bad parent for ALL of his people but only selectively, esp towards certain minorities or individuals. Thus, millions of lives lost during the last 70yrs seemed didn’t mean anything to some people who continue want to do business with them. The media need to be educated about what Mr BJ really did since its establishment, not just sporadic recent facts.

Welcome back! Excellent job! Thanks for your work!

There are Chinese immigrants and Chinese Americans who’d rather keep principled of human rights and freedom instead of going there or back to do business with the CCP to earn money. Yet, so many already rich Americans couldn’t wait to rush there to earn money from poor Chinese who have been under slavery system to enrich the CCP. Shame on them!!!

Wow, Zhao was giving a serious warning - your lives are at danger…

Wonder if it had anything to do with Jiang Zhe-Ming… Now that Xi wants to get rid of Jiang… Just like that tennis player case in a way. Hmmm…
3
Almost everyone who went thru the Cultural Revolution knows about Mao and his women, his wife and then world champion(s) in table tennis, etc. This is trivial compared to those. But it’s excellent point that how it even got through the inspection. Interesting.

What about from the west, esp the US?
2
Thank you 🙏
2
Militaries are easily corrupted due to absolute power. It was corrupted much earlier.
2
It’s also possible that the US wants to concentrate effort for more important and foreseeable frontline in the pacific… Let’s hope that Biden isn’t totally compromised as some said.
2
Need to make movies like with James Bond with Russian love…
2
I wished the same that Xi will end the CCP. But I don’t think so now. He’s too sick and too dumb to do so. Would be interesting to know what Gorbachev really said to Deng when he visited PRC in early-mid 1989.
2
Jiang was a bad guy who really wanted to use military on students in Shanghai. Thanks to the Mayor of Shanghai Mr Zhu Rongji who insisted that wasn’t necessary. Otherwise, there would be blood shed in Shanghai, too.
2
Timely. Thank you!

Looking at HW Bush’s picture with his wife in front of the Mao’s picture on Tiananmen, he was so proud and happy. Did he know that it was a picture of deadly dictator like Hitler to ordinary Chinese? Probably not. He seemed so satisfied with his mission success that he forgot his essential purpose of the mission.
2
Comments were deleted by YouTube for sure. And it sometimes block people, too.
2
How the CCP choose their top athletes?
2
Thanks for talking about this. This is insane policy to let them do so. 🥶😢
2
Shhh, don’t remind them.
2
Looking forward to the next good story… Chinese society is probably more complicated than their ancient novels.
2
Marshall Liu had to resign shortly afterwards due to his blindness. Marshall Peng who was the one mainly led the whole action became the biggest rightest and got in prison after that. Both of them followed Mao from the very beginning of CCP military establishment. So much for Chinese rewarding heroes.
2
Another great program. But it’s clear that Mao was super smart and figured out how to use communist theory to rob others’ wealth legally, and he in turn became the ultimate emperor without naming the dynasty.
2
Ultimately, it was because Mao’s last wife really wanted to be the successor as the Queen. The whole drama of Gang of Four had much to do with the political struggles and disasters during the Cultural Revolution, and even involved conflicts with the Vice Chair Lin, who was accused as a traitor right after his plane went down in Outer Mongolia.
2
Priceless information.
2
And Hu was even the youngest Red Army man! That’s the strongest political background.
2
It looks like you comment is from CCP funded projects.
2
Chinese people there would give Deng the honor for his efforts to reverse the Cultural Revolution, and esp by giving the education opportunity back to the students and canceling the devastating Send-Down movement as well as trying to recover the scientific technologies and literatures and at the same time resuming the older generations of intellectuals jobs and reputations.

One can say all Chinese soldiers were volunteers. What a joke Mao made! Not declaring a war? The US was certainly regarded as enemies in their publications including textbooks.
2
Wow… wonder if Kissinger knows by now that he was so fooled by the Chinese about Mao’s condition back then…
2
Sad for Chinese people who are now completely under control with few chances to rebel. 😢
2
Mao was the most corrupted. His Deputy Lin sounded as corrupted one, too. Marshall Ye Jianying was said as a money lover. They got a long history there…
2
Deng used western capitalist policies to be controlled under his party to gain some wealth as he knew poverty was leading the fall of Soviets and Eastern European nations. My question is whether he actually helped to push the fall of Soviets also to gain credit with the US then because he’d also gain the leading of the world communist organization.
2
Though Hua was named by Mao, he didn’t have experience in military and too young. Few older generation military officials respected him, while Deng was one of those who started with Mao from the very beginning and experienced on battlefields. Hua only arrested the Gang of Four under the pressures from the older military officials and also Deng though Deng wasn’t quite in full power, yet. That’s why Hua had to step down and it was the right thing perceived by most Chinese then.

Is there a way to have Chinese subtitles? I think it’ll be good for some Chinese there to learn your info as well. It’ll be very refreshing for them.

Now, Chinese gov is smart enough to worry about Tesla data, why aren’t western governments, including the US, wise enough to worry about all the “smart” gadgets made in China that acquire data from western citizens’ demographics, networks and devices, etc?!
1
Eye opening!
1
Another good program. But there are lots of propaganda stuffs including movies on this and other social media from that side.
1
Here is a statement I saw from someone online and I think all non Chinese who had the fantasies should know, “When I was young, I was taught to strengthen the motherland so nobody could take advantage of us anymore; after I grew up, I realized that with a stronger motherland, nobody would dare to save us (from it).” What a hopeless and helpless statement! Worse yet, more Chinese oversea are more scared and threatened by the CCP and fewer and fewer would speak up nowadays.
1
Don’t have fantasies.
1
Great job. But don’t forget those of demoncrats, including Harry Truman and OSS director William Donovan who helped the CCP during critical times during and at the end of WWII…
1
Excellent analogy and program.
1
Isn’t there a saying, “Be fear of the fame just like the pigs should be afraid of being fat?”
1
Japanese helped the CCP in the war against the Chinese nationalist’s military per real history. But almost nobody in mainland know about this real history. So the CCP has to keep pretending how much they hated Japanese as it’s their credit in front of Chinese people.
