This concept also translates into other areas aswell, like you explained about the video games there has been certain games that I have focused non stop for months on and gotten really good, people claiming I hack etc, but then i switch to a new game for like 1 week and return back thinking I will still have my skills and then I am the one losing and can't play as effeciently. Its as if the neural pathways have switched to a new game and withered the old ones. super fascinating

So true 1stman. this is a simple but powerful concept that most people don't realize. In the book Peak anders ericsson said astronauts have to exercise massively whilst in space or there bones become weak and frail due to no gravity up there. basically whatever you don't use in nature it weakens as your bodys way of conserving energy. So for most it's not realistic to be the best at everything. You can't become a marathon runner and be a bodybuilder at the same time. You just gotta pick what you want and go for it not having any regrets leaving other stuff behind.
