Because it should trouble Labour’s conscience a wee bit more because they’re children? To be treating the most vulnerable in our society in such a barbarous way should make us want to act a bit more than if they were adult. Labour used to have both courage and principle. And I’m old enough to remember when.

For the same reason Labour aren’t going to do lots of things they should. Coz they’re past masters at doing nothing. They excel at nothing. They are Lords of the Void.

@abody499 Yes. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Murphy say anything I’m not in agreement with, apart from that Scotland shouldn’t consider a (slightly) lower corporation tax level than England. But I’m happy to disagree with him on that point. :)

@Talentedtadpole Perhaps 14 years of Tory rule has exacerbated that. The “Nasty Party” has surely gone beyond mere nasty by now. No money for child poverty, but plenty for taking us back to the 1950s with conscription. There’s your Tories, right there.
