Not sure what the difference is between MMT and good old fashioned Keynesian pump priming?

@julianshepherd2038 For me it beggars belief how some people oppose the transition to viable renewables. Why on earth not move to energy sources that will be forever free, forever clean and forever local?

@WarrenPeaceOG Thanks, it’s so tempting to regard national finances/economics as akin to those of the corner shop. But when the shop owner gets a bill from a supplier, they can’t go in a back room and print money to pay it. So, I’m reading that, if/when we see a new BRICS currency it’ll be gold backed, would that mean they couldn’t “do” MMT? I don’t agree economics is the dismal science, I find it quite interesting, but I’d call it the confusing science.
