  1. I’m old enough to remember life in UK going back to the 60s. When I left education it was at the end of the era of British full employment. When I started work, Thatcher came to power. For me, there was a very clear difference regarding the poor in UK before and after Thatcher. Before her, there were poor people, after her there were poor people and an underclass. That underclass has sadly remained. The existence, extent, longevity and horror of the British underclass is largely a Tory creation, which these right-wingers may wish to contemplate. Tories don’t care about the poor, and just want to crap over and demonise the underclass they created. Tories are the problem, definitely not the solution.
