  1. Yes. For all I try to understand what the Ukrainian objective was and is, I simply can’t. A political embarrassment for Putin, the possibility of the Russians stalling their general drive west to divert troops protect Kursk, to potentially capture the Kursk power plant, to create a bargaining chip in peace negotiations? Yes, all of those are potential objectives. But how realistic? I could have an objective to become a billionaire rock star, as far as I can see, the Ukrainians and I are neck and neck.
