  1. The US can only hope to delay the inevitable rise of China, not stop it. I’m not sure whether US protectionism will work or not. It could, as this guy says, actually backfire. China isn’t Russia, you can’t cut yourself off from China as easily as you can Russia. We’ll see, but I wouldn’t be optimistic for this US strategy.

  5. Not sure how, even a weak, rump Ukraine after the war could ever be a liability for NATO? Doesn’t take much I would think to site missiles etc..? My guess is it would still be an asset, just a far less dangerous one for Russia.

  6. We’ve seen the US and the West committed to a “war on terror”. When I see them commit to a “war on poverty” or a “war on inequality” I’ll be impressed.
