Give solutions, not problems - who do you believe should be Scottish FM..? ("anyone but him" not allowed as an answer btw...).

@hussar6347 Not sure I agree. Forbes’ religious opinions I’d describe as being minority.
2
@hussar6347 Yes, people usually do know what feels right. Perhaps that’s why the SNP has been the dominant party in Scotland since 2007? As a Scot I reckon I’m fairly mainstream in my opinion of religion and politics - they shouldn’t go together. Yousaf has been successful in achieving that, Forbes didn’t manage, and paid the price.
1
Well, that wasn't a hopelessly biased account - not at all..!

The Tories haven't been wanted by the Scots since 1955. Thanks to the unequal, unfair and involuntary UK union - we have to suck up being ruled by them from Westminster, just like the disaster of getting dragged out of the EU that we didn't want to do either. As opposed to the SNP - the party that has the support of more Scots than any other by a country mile.
1
@oildrag Wanna bet?
1
@oildrag Firstly, I’m not an SNP supporter, I’m an independence supporter. In fact the SNP don’t even get both my Holyrood votes. I expect this will hit their support, but for how long and in what scale we will see, but to hope it will destroy them is just unionist salivation. The electorate have short memories, as successive useless, corrupt Tory UK governments prove. In any case, even if it does hit their support do you really think Indy supporters will start voting Labour or Tory instead? Enjoy your schadenfreude, but your UK union is no less in peril. People like me don’t want to leave the unequal, unfair and involuntary UK union because they like the SNP…. We want to because independence is the best path for our country.

No way he’ll beat the Liz the lettuce, though, or Bojo the clown. Let’s face it, Westminster has cornered the market for political village idiots. Jeez man, Westminster is a joke, why not focus your sense of humour a bit closer to home?
1
No, Scottish energy wealth, whether fossil fuel or renewables, is only one of the reasons for independence. Not getting dragged out of the EU against our will via a disastrous Brexit and Tory Westminster governments we never vote are others. I could go on....
1
@spunkbubble1 Liz Truss? Bojo?
1
@mambajoopa OK. Explain.
1
@mambajoopa Yes, that's obvious. At least you can spell that.
1
@Tourist1967 The govt doesn’t make the real money from licences, they make it from corporation tax.
1
@garyedwards8142 Actually, they will increasingly do it using offshore wind power. It’s a great idea.
1
@Tourist1967 Well, you obviously wanted to imply the Scottish Govt couldn’t make money from the North Sea. Anyway, why would they revoke the licences? Why not just take the Corp tax? They have over 2 decades of revenue left and after that we’ll be making revenues from green electricity from offshore and onshore wind.
1
@Tourist1967 Last attempt at what - consistency? So your point was about climate policy? Really? The SG recognises that we can’t shut the taps immediately. Sounds good sense to me. Try reading the comment that opened this “debate”. Wasn’t it about money? We will run our energy industries better than UK ever did, not that that’s any kind of high bar. Have a look at how much the clever, independent Norwegians have made out of their oil and gas industry, then compare with the shambles Westminster has made. We’ll never look back.
1
@mogznwaz No, it's called UK democracy. Scotland in the UK is like 10 wolves and 1 sheep getting an equal say on what's for dinner. Wiltshire is not a country - Scotland is and soon it'll be an independent one in which what England wants doesn't need to be what we get.
1
@mogznwaz Your opinions are of no interest to the people of Scotland. You can believe our country to be whatever you like, it’s what we believe that matters. In the unfair, unequal and involuntary UK union, there is only one constituent part and people of that union that could leave whenever it chooses. for whichever reason it chooses. Guess which one. Fair?
1
And we only need look as far as Westminster to see that proven, eh? Liz Truss, Bojo, Blair the war criminal, Thatcher the Destroyer - what a list.....
1
How's that?
1
Dave Coyle and you really care about the Shetlanders……
1
@Stuffandstuff974 how would you "deal with it"?
1
@philipcook9772 You do know Hadrian's Wall is in England?
1
@EtonieE25 Meaning what?
1
@EtonieE25 Yes, your Skye comment. What is the point you’re making and why.
1
@Stuffandstuff974 And how would you arrange the fascist Westminster you’d need for that? Military coup?
1
@Stuffandstuff974 So how do you “mass deport” people legally here that don’t want to go without becoming the fascist regime you clearly long for ?
1
@magdjesu7715 Because if we were to prevent that happening that would make us the same as what you obviously object to?
1
@ispy3836 you just did…
1
@ispy3836 actually, free prescriptions, university education and bus fares, to name a few things. But don t let facts get in the way of your racism.
1
@ispy3836 And Muslims can’t be racist? Your comments are clearly anti-Muslim, so please explain what exactly your message is, because it looks to me very much like an anti-Muslim dog whistle. While your at it, given we live in a representative democracy, please explain the process whereby Scots will soon be getting “free prayer mats”…
1
@ispy3836 Speech is, you should learn to use it more wisely. Yousaf has managed extremely well to keep his politics and religion separate, which is to be commended, in all politicians. In fact isn't it ironic that the SNP leadership candidate who's campaign foundered due to their religious beliefs was not the Muslim guy?
