Going for volume will undercut Tesla's whole brand tho. At that point they're just another EV player. Tesla's whole schtick was to be the Apple of the car world. Without their premium identity, what do they have to sell themselves with that other companies don't?

Those studies (I assume you mean the Pew survey) happened to be of a very small selection of countries, basically just the major western nations plus Japan. It excluded most of Asia and all of Africa and Latin America. So I'd hardly call that representative.

@oybekoyhonim If you think Asianometry dislikes unions, try looking at the country he comes from - which is the US, not China (and he's settled in Taiwan btw). Unions are practically a bad word there, and 'union-busting' is a term made popular by America, not China. Ironically at the same time people criticize China for less worker rights, they're ALSO attacking it for its policy of cracking down on big companies in the cause of shared prosperity. Now try seeing if America ever did that.

@metagen77 Bought any clothes recently? Did you just check if they came from Bangladesh? What about your phone? Did you check if it has cobalt? Etc. Don't pretend this is about caring for other people. This typically only comes up when folks like you talk about 'enemy' nations, not people in general. That's not humanity, that's nationalism. At least own up to it then.

@what.the..6990 Because they do whatever their American masters expect them to, even without being told. Including even going to war. If the US makes this an issue, you can bet the UK will too.

@what.the..6990 It isn't just China that the UK has followed the US on. And have you met dog owners? Some treat their pets well, while others very much don't. Not that the UK is abused, but they aren't pampered either. That is hardly atypical for pet owners

Safety specs sure. They're not gonna sell through tariffs if they're high enough to make it unprofitable tho.

@jimurrata6785 Why not just export the Bolt to other markets where it can sell better?
