@jamesduston9292 Nuclear has poor returns on investment, and in all developed and even most developing nations all the easy hydropower options are already tapped out. Also if you have hydropower available, that means you have fresh water available.

@28ebdh3udnav We can, but getting the water inland isn't the hard part of desalinated water, it's actually desalinating the water. There's already water systems to get the water to where it needs to go. Nations that rely on desalination i.e. desert ones already tend to have their population centers mostly on the coast anyway.
