So I came to this video to learn something about actual projections for the future of oil, and instead I get 15 minutes of mostly faffing about repeating that tired old Easter Island metaphor that we've heard used so many times before. Talk about a waste of time. This reminds me of a certain Kraut video ostensibly about the future of Saudi Arabia in which he spends the entire runtime telling us about the fall of the Kingdom of the Congo, only mentioning Saudi Arabia right at the end to make it clear that this is meant to be a metaphor for Saudi Arabia's future. That's it. Nary a word on the actual topic of the video, just one long extended metaphor that's meant to taken at face value as perfectly applicable to the actual subject of the piece. Yeah no, the history lesson is nice and all, but I learned very little about KSA in that video or about oil in this one.

  2. The bottom line is that this video had very little concrete to actually say about oil and so instead baited us by padding its length with a cliched metaphor just to have more stuff to say.
