First! Anyway yeah, while people argue over the safety and dangers of nuclear power ad infinitum, what's really hurting them is simply a lack of investor interest owing to their plummeting returns profile. You pretty much have to turn to govts. financing them all cos it seems private investors just aren't all that stoked on nuclear cos it's not profitable enough.

@williamsmith1741 Difference is wind and especially solar have been cheaper and hence more profitable each year, while the opposite is true of nuclear. They have lower initial capital costs and hence much quicker payback times for investors too. Nuclear pretty much has to rest all its hopes on the new SMR designs, cos traditional nuclear just makes for a bad investment and isn't getting better.
