@chongdi6140 I find it hilarious how all the reasons given for why Japan would do well are the SAME things China has been doing/using, which the US complains about but is apparently okay with Japan doing lol. Depreciated currency? Yep, the US has been complaining about the Chinese doing that with the Yuan for years. Low wages, paid in a lower value currency to an army of engineers? Check, all the same in China. Industrial agglomeration wherein you have all the suppliers together in one place? Check, this is why China still dominates manufacturing despite it not having the lowest wages in the world anymore. Ease of construction and lax environmental laws? Double check, hilariously the west actually uses that second fact to criticize China lol! And finally public support lmao?!! This is the biggest talking point that the US and now Europe are raising a stink over wrt China, yet apparently welcome from Japan? Talk about hypocrisy..

The question isn't who they'll choose, but how much that choice is going to hurt them. Cos it's going to hurt quite a bit.

@guydreamr Ironically China's last war was in 1979, while the US' latest one ended just barely 3 years ago. And they hold the title of most military acts since WW2.

China is already one of the biggest investors in Mexico lol. They saw it coming. 😂

Quite the irony that the nation with the most military operations since WW2 is the one supposedly 'deterring aggression' lol.

Except the ones who're allies ofc. Like Saudi Arabia.

@guydreamr Lol you just switched tracks. No longer trying to defend the moral high ground? But ofc you'll never actually admit to not having it, just change the subject. You lost in Vietnam too btw, and lost a lot more after trying for far far longer despite being comparatively stronger at the time. So this is more of a credit to Vietnam than it is to you - it actually makes you look much worse. At least they weren't as bull headed about it. While you have a history of that kind of loss elsewhere too. They look more rational, you look just stubborn.
3
@guydreamr Lol the US fought Japan for its own reasons, not to save China. China was already fighting them themselves. May as well argue that Germany 'saved' all anti-colonial struggles around the world by that logic. And the USSR collapsed internally - you never had the courage to fight it direct, let alone win against it. I suppose every sportsman 'wins' against the greatest simply cos they all retire eventually, using your logic.
3
@guydreamr Lol you call outlasting the USSR economy a 'war'? Lmao. And very telling that you left out the fact that you had to withdraw your own missiles too. Nice that we're talking about Cuba tho, as that's one of the clearest examples of both your bullying, grudges and hypocrisy. And a counterpoint to your rhetoric on Taiwan.
3
Or the ones they've installed. Like in Gautemala.
3
Or ones they've worked with. Like, hilariously, Saddam Hussein. Etc. etc. Lol at you if you actually buy into that nonsense political rhetoric lmao!
3
@leoprg5330 East Europeans aren't unbiased lol! Whatever gave you that idea?
3
@guydreamr Even the one China is expected to do is right on its doorstep, while most of the US' are spread all over the world. So much for global designs lol. The US fits that phrase far better.
2
@guydreamr You did switch lol. Your original comment said nothing about who had more military experience, just empty pretense to the moral high ground. As for your conflicts, the fact that you've lost at all is an embarrassment, as you've only ever fought with far weaker foes. China fought a much closer peer than you ever did in 1962, and won. And now you're literally wooing said peer to try to use them against it lol. Hardly sounds confident. Not that they're gullible enough to fall for that easily, as you have a terrible history with them too, which they haven't forgotten. They play ball, just as Vietnam does, for them rewards it offers them. But neither has forgotten the history.
2
Rather than staving off conflict, you're making it more likely.
2
@living_well_18 You know most of the world hasn't allied with either. False dichotomy is false.

The US fits that bill far better than China ever could.

@guydreamr I'll give you credit for one thing though - at least you dropped the faux moralist mask quickly. That's better than most 'west is best' types in my experience. It makes for a more honest exchange when you admit that the only right that's ever mattered to you is your might. As true today as it was during your colonial heydays, just with more PR now. It's nice to see the ugly side out in the open
1
@guydreamr Ofc the biggest irony is all the hypocrisy, cos the pentagon doesn't have to popular. Hence why KSA is an ally. Hence why Gautemala had a dictator installed. Hence why Saddam Hussien was a partner when he first came to power. Or why Cuba's dictator Batista was feted, but the other dictator Castro is hated. Etc. It's hilarious that you lot pretend to morality lol. You don't even live by your own ideals lmao

Quite the irony that the nation with the most military operations since WW2 is the one supposedly 'deterring aggression' lol. China hasn't been to war since 1979, while the US' last war ended just barely 3 years ago. Keep telling yourself that prisons like the 'first island chain' are somehow an innocent policy. Try doing the same to a person and see how they react to it. It isn't peaceful, quite the opposite. Rather than staving off conflict, you're making it more likely.

Russia also once 'deterred' the US with forces on Cuba. The result was nearly a third great war. Luckily they agreed to back off.

@i6power30 I wasn't talking about after a war, but even without one. It's going to hurt their economy regardless.
1
@i6power30 Also I doubt the Chinese will bother doing anything to them apart from claiming the islands they've disputed for years, and making them relinquish their US bases. They aren't going to invade. Not worth it. As long as they can show Japan that they can blockade it if it tries anything, it'll be much easier to just watch as it fades into irrelevance. They'd rather focus on settling the Korean issue in their favor i.e. with the US gone from there too.

@steinwaldmadchen China is already the world leader when it comes to batteries lol. They don't need to aspire to outproduce the west, they already do.
