  1. inb4 the moralists come along to spout their holier than thou rhetoric about how their favorite bad guys are the same and thereby make their case for yet more war. Basically turning their fears, or often it sounds pretty much like their desires, into a self-fulfilling prophecy. The worst thing about ww2 isn't anything that happened during it, as horrific as all that was, but how much it's been moralized. Ww 1 isn't spoken of like that - it's viewed as a tragedy all around, with little to no moral value. That's how ww2 should also be seen. War is a terrible thing - it should never be celebrated. And certainly never hallowed. But they love feeding their moralist egos.

  2.  @BA-ff3xq  Fascists aren't the only ones who moralize about war. The people who constantly keep talking about fascists and seemingly see them everywhere also do it. Any ideology that puts itself on a pedestal and believes in its own moral superiority does it. It is that tendency to moral superiority that I meant. 'Democracy v/s dictatorships' for instance.

  6. Ru doesn't have a war economy. They have less than a tenth of what the Germans were dedicating to it. Ironically, as the video point out, it's Yikrin that has dedicated much more of its economy to the fight that Ru has. And it's similarly unsustainable, with massive deficits and debts, propped up by extensive foreign financial assistance.

The sad thing is that the people who keep spouting this stuff don't appreciate, or don't care, that they're essentially creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more demonization you do, the more you'll create your own demons and make the very the conflict you fear more likely. Ru isn't even the best example of this today, China is. Without even a war, the west is building up the rhetoric to make a war inevitable. Sometimes it sounds like you people even want it...
