Comments by "Persona" (@ArawnOfAnnwn) on "The BATTLE for 5G | Is There an Alternative to HUAWEI? - VisualPolitik EN" video.
@buddy1155 Please tell me about how China stole 5G technology from America before it was even developed. Sounds like a pretty trippy story...

None of them are as good as Huawei, and certainly not as cheap. But really, the problem isn't that there aren't alternatives to Huawei, if you're willing to pay for them, cos there are. The problem is that none of them are American, and Trump desperately wants it to be American. Not for any good reasons mind, but that's Trump for you.

Indeed. The US actually has a long history of protectionism, especially while it was developing, as did Britain for that matter. It became the champion of free trade only after it had already achieved global dominance, again much like Britain. Ha-Joon Chang's (he's Korean, not Chinese, and works at Oxford) book, "Kicking Away The Ladder" is a great rundown of just how far back the history of "Do as we say, not as we did" goes vis-a-vis the West and economics.

@RSGEProductions If you think they're pro-China, then go check their previous video. Really, these speculations are just getting silly...

@sujesh4684 That's fine, and in that case alternatives exist. So long as you're not caught up in the dumb rhetoric that's hamstringing Trumpian politics wherein even products made by other countries aren't acceptable simply because they aren't American enough. That's just a political stunt to be able to declare an all-American victory to sooth inflated egos.

The largest and most well-funded espionage network in the world is that of the US. So...err, yeah the Chinese must be big danger! Cuz it's China!! Right...

@sujesh4684 Are you a regular producer of tired old internet memes?

For everyday use, nothing. 5G even has more limitations that 4G - it's faster, but it also has lower range, meaning you need a lot more antennas everywhere. The race for 5G is more about future-proofing (and egos) than anything else.

@kalzonenu Simon never wrote the script in the first place. It was always based on the content of the main Spanish VP channel. And it still is. Keep your divisive political idiocy out of here, thanks.

It's called 'lampshading' (google it). He's just doing it because he's anticipated people criticizing him in the comments (this comment section has been terrible to the new guy, since it's apparently filled with shallow and superficial Simon fanboys who're seemingly only here for the presenter), so he's getting ahead of them.

swave158 It was Bush that got that criminal enterprise started. Obama then allowed it to expand. So basically, both parties suck.

@sujesh4684 In that case, who sponsored this video of theirs? https://youtu.be/uUsNYnXx_sI

@vangcruz4442 A lot of people are questioning the need for even 5G, which is barely established as it is, and you want to put money into 6G research now? For what? Who's going to even use it, even within the US? Plus 5G already has a range problem, which compounds the expense problem, and 6G would be even worse in that regard.

@vinnyboy1976 Yes, they've talked about HK. Now why don't you stop throwing rhetorical questions at me and go and actually check their previous videos yourself? They're just a click away...

Then why is Apple so successful?

@My_Take Did you put any money on the line for that prediction?

@deshaunjackson8188 Perhaps, but the vast majority of the complaints I saw under their recent vids were just endless comments repeating "We want Simon!" ad infinitum. Not criticizing the content of the video, not even criticizing the new guys' presentation style. Just blatant Simon fangirling. It'd be easier to take the negativity seriously if it was focused on the content, but it hasn't.

Golden Eagle No, they don't. Also 5G isn't a gun.
