Human rights have little to do with economic turnarounds. China has poor human rights, yet they're the biggest economic success in generations. It isn't the only example of this either, just a big one. Dubai is another one, right next to Saudi Arabia. Investors don't care. The only rights they give a shit about are the ones affecting their money, not the people.

@headoverheels88 Singapore was far from rich when it gained independence. Lee Kuan Yew made Singapore, not the Brits.

@floydlooney6837 Lol you think the nation whose label 'Made in China' is so widespread that it's practically a meme for making everything is nothing but a bubble? Their property market may be inflated atm but their economy is far from fictitious. You can't export ghost cities, and they export A LOT of stuff. They have a more diversified economy than many developed nations

@Bhembca Wait for what exactly? Even if China were to fail at some point, it doesn't prove your argument. You'd need them, and the myriad of other examples that undermine your thesis, to all fail BECAUSE of their human rights issues ... somehow. So far there's far more examples of nations succeeding despite poor human rights than there are of what you're claiming.
