@dana8503 Err...China has a larger navy than the US already, albeit with less range, and has peppered the area with anti-ship defenses. Even the US' own generals have expressed misgivings about fighting China in their own backyard.

@Minchya China's navy isn't built around aircraft carriers, nor is it meant to be able to support distant invasions (for instance, China can't invade Peru, despite being far more powerful, while the US can - and did - invade Vietnam). It's designed to counter enemy navies close to home, basically to be an anti-American force based around subs, destroyers and frigates. It isn't meant to have the US' inland power projection (which aircraft carriers are good at) but rather to take out opposing ships from within their massive anti-access area denial system in the china seas. They aren't trying to invade the US homeland, their purpose is to sink its fleet if it dares to come close to them. China also has more ship-building capacity than the US btw. So now only would they have the assistance of their missiles and air force in case of a confrontation, but they can also replenish their forces faster too. Why do you think the US discusses blocking the Malacca Strait instead? Cos they don't want to get close to China. 'Cept if they do that China can just up the ante on Taiwan and Japan in turn.

@Megalomaniakaal China doesn't need foreign ports to fight the conflict that is expected - it'll be in THEIR backyard, off the coast of Taiwan, under the umbrella of not just their navy but also air forces, missiles and even parts of their army air divisions lol. Even their navy is practically built for taking out enemy navies, rather than supporting land invasions like America's navy is equipped for (hence their focus on cruisers and subs more than aircraft carriers, which are built for power projection). They fight would be exactly where they'd want it. You could try blockading the Malacca Strait ofc, but 1) the countries in the region won't like that, and 2) that wouldn't save Taiwan, in fact China could simply up the ante by fully blockading not just Taiwan but Japan too if you try doing that (especially if Japan gets involved). It'd be better for all parties, save the US, for the war to be decided via a straightforward confrontation - but like I said, that would be in China's backyard.

@dana8503 Lol keep telling yourself that. Even the US' own generals don't have the kind of hubris you're displaying in their own forces. Those nuclear carriers are all giant targets for a navy that's purpose built to counter enemy navies. Not with "boats" lol, but subs, missiles, destroyers, frigates and even aircraft from the homeland.

@Minchya The further away you try to impose a blockade from, the less effective it will be. In fact blockades from such a distance have pretty much never been done, let alone done successfully. The further away it is, the more of global trade passes through it and the greater the disruption for everyone onwards. If you go further away than the Malacca Strait, you're gonna disrupt trade flows to India for example, whose assistance the US is trying to court. And Indonesia will never be happy with Australia aiming guns in its vicinity. Plus like I said, they can just up the ante.

@AL-lh2ht Lol their navy is literally purpose built to counter yours. Rather than massive floating airbases mainly used for inland power projection, they focus on subs, destroyers, mines and missiles. Those are all anti-ship craft, in addition to which they'll have the full complement of their air force as well, not just the planes they can fit on a handful of carriers and a long range bombers. There's a reason even American generals have expressed misgivings.

@MarkJanssen3 China has no interest in invading America lol. They know well enough it'd be futile, just as America invading China would also be futile. They'd attack the American navy trying to break a blockade of Taiwan in THEIR backyard. Their navy likely wouldn't go any further than possibly the American bases in Japan. They're not trying to conquer America, they simply want to nullify America's 'island chain' containment strategy.

We've stood up to China from right next door for decades, without a massive ocean to run behind whenever a war doesn't go our way. We know what courage is far better than the nation who's only ever known how to pick on weaker nations, but is full of bombast about its willingness to take on anyone. So don't call me the troll, miss freedom 'warrior'. Maybe consider that if can't imagine people thinking differently from you as anything other than trolling, it's probably just you who's got her head in an echo chamber, with no diversity nor even an imagination.

@AL-lh2ht Like you mass starved Iraq you mean? Oh yeah worked so well didn't it? Lol. Have fun also starving Taiwan and Japan too, while royally pissing off Indonesia while you're at it. Or do you think they'll just take that lying down? Meanwhile they have one of the world's largest food producers just to their north who also hates the US and will be only too happy to export to them. Really the tactic isn't just ineffective, it's also plain cowardly. You might as well just wave a white flag admitting you're too scared to take them head on, choosing to mess up the whole region rather than face them like men.

@nicheva417 Lol even the US' own generals aren't as confident in their takes on fighting China in their water as you internet warriors are. Displacement is a measure of weight, not power. They have far more weapons in the area. And not just on their ships lol.
