  2. ***** No. Goofing by violating the law requiring him to notify congress. Goofing by apparently having considered literally paying the taliban for a captured soldier. Goofing by choosing to sic his white house attack dog aides on the media and insinuating that his fellow soldiers lied. Goofing by not admitting Bergdahl was a deserter and then trying to tell people it's not a settled matter when Hastings revealed the Bergdahl emails years ago that would tell anyone with half a brain he intended to desert permanently.

  3. ***** Again though congress is half run by democrats- so you can't say it's partisan. As for the law all it requires is congress be notified- it doesn't require Obama to get any permission; it's a mystery why he didn't notify Feinstein, who is one of his strongest allies in congress. I agree that we should close gitmo- but we should be putting these people on trial in actual courts, not just letting Obama send them to qatar as a political chess move.

  4. ***** Congress does however have the real power to impeach Obama; and I believe now for the first time that it is likely this will happen, as it seems the GOP may take the senate by a single seat while making gains even in the house which they already overwhelmingly control. Clinton survived impeachment because the only reasoning given was "muh blowjob" and his popularity was hovering around 50% at the time- Obama is in the shitter at 40% on a good day and that's before we factor in any loss in new polling due to the Bergdahl ordeal (I expect his approval will drop substantially as military-area blue staters abandon him.)
