  2. I don't see where there's anybody in the world that Putin is happier to see than Tulsi Gabbard in national intelligence. Anything she gets told will be in his hands within 2 days.

  3. He won his election, if it looks like he's going nowhere in the nomination process, he can just get sworn in again at the beginning of January. Resigning now doesn't forfeit serving in the next session. If he doesn't take the oath and re-join the House, and his nomination tanks, then he's out of government period - except of course that I'm sure the orange smear will put him into a non-Senate confirmed position in the White House anyway.
