Where would this man be if he did not have a landlord. By the time the landlord has paid the mortgage, insurance, upkeep, agency fees and tax they don't make much money. Most landlords do have a job, they still have to pay for their home and families, what they earn from their rental would not keep them.

@noncomplacent no the tenant pays rent to live in the property, so the tenant gets a place to live but the Landlord pays for the cost of the property, are you saying the tenant should live rent free?
