Part of the reason that a lot of people are not having a street party is that 1 most people employed in retain and the service industry will not be given the day off as the shops, pubs, restaurants, etc are not closing. 2 the council have made it difficult to get the road closure as well as the cost, whilst there is no fee to close the road there is a charge of around £50 per sign and barriers to close the road.
