This is one of those "watch every day before going to sleep and after waking up" types of videos. This HAS to be one of the most inspiring videos on location independent entrepreneurship I have ever seen.

Meh, I don't think he's selling a dream, but its not the most realistic thing for anybody who doesn't have a lot of money...Kiyosaki isn't corporatist enough to employ pyramid schemes. And let's face it, the original "American Dream" of "Work for the man for 40 years, get gold watch, chill until death" has been dead pretty much since the US decided that it was possible to raise taxes, steal retirement money, among other things, as long as they create an enemy to exploit." Massive federal governments have ended the American Dream in both aspects.

Why be in California AT ALL? To live, OR do business? That place has pretty much become the USSR at this point.
7
I'd say that any legit entrepreneur worth their salt would maximize both. This way if one form of income breaks down, you'll be able to rely on the other form of income for a bit. This is what I'm beginning to do with my businesses.

Good stuff. I was considering renouncing and moving somewhere in Southeast Asia (either Thailand or Singapore) but don't really know if its necessary. I intend to make my living at home as an author and freelance copywriter, and the concept of the digital nomad seems right up my alley since I am obsessed with personal freedom.

I'm so glad I discovered this channel, makes me sad how people demonize people like us. What's so bad about travelling the world and not spending a fortune doing it?

Education doesn't really mean anything anymore. There are high school drop outs who make lots of money. As far as marketable skills, as long as you are curious enough to learn, then you can develop a marketable skill pretty quickly. You seem to have decent writing skills which like 5% of the population have lol. Maybe write stuff for people? That's what I do. I sell e-books too.

@CrispDai That's my plan too. Hopefully I'll be operating out of Thailand or the Philippines by 2022 (when I turn 40).

This panic has taught me three things: 1) I've been acting like a total child when it comes to money, been living paycheck to paycheck my entire life and I need to take things much more seriously and be able to take at least three months off of life without needing to work. 2) The west is one of the worst places to live if you value personal freedom. 3) A repeat of the first thing. I'm going to come out of this a completely different person and it is going to be fantastic. The next time something like this happens, I'll be ready.

People like to abuse the word "scam" too. In probably 95% of all cases, anyone who describes anything as a "scam" is just a quitter who is often happy being miserable without knowing that they enjoy being miserable. So I've disallowed that word in my lexicon (unless I'm clearly joking). Another word/phrase I've banned is "oppressed" or "held down." This word reveals that a person is seeking external solutions for their life instead of internal ones. Again, I don't use it myself unless I'm joking about something. I'm slowly reaching a point in my life where quitters and people who seek external solutions for their lives are pretty much dead to me. I don't have anymore time to waste. Never had time to waste in the first place.

I'm gonna add, at least for the US, a war and a draft. Unemployment here is going to possibly hit the 30% mark and to get people off the streets, the government will draft them into the military to fight against China. There's going to be a lot of literature out that says that COVID 19 was an "act of war" by China and it's going to get people to join and its going to be an excuse for the draft. Oh and the travel bans are probably going to last until 2022 for pretty much everywhere. Maybe even until 2025. I disagree with Andrew in that it's only gonna be certain places in the west. Its gonna be worldwide. I have a feeling we're gonna see a lot of bloody revolutions because of this.

Here's the reason I'm hoarding up non-perishable food and toiletries here in the US. I know that its gonna be like Europe where everything is gonna close and we won't be able to leave our homes but there are SO many elements of randomness. None of us have any idea of when anything is gonna begin OR end. If the government straight up said "We're on lockdown during all of April, here's some money to hold you up because you were forced to take time off of your job" everyone would be cool. But nope. Like usual, there has to be over 9000 god dam complications out here. "We don't know...we don't have a clear solution yet" seems to be the narrative. Oh the US government can't hook its citizens up with some money but is able to borrow a trillion dollars so they can blow places up? How nice. I'm moving the f**k out of this backwards country of death in the next two years. I'm beyond done.

Absolutely. With stuff like this you just gotta accept that it sucks, adapt to the inconveniences, then adjust by doing different stuff. Then you'll be alright as if nothing happened.
2
What advice could Andrew or anyone watching this give to someone who is just starting out with this stuff? I've been doing this for two years but I feel so lost and overwhelmed, but if I go back to getting a job I'll get sucked right back in and waste my life again.
2
@matthaze Oh I know why, its just that I just don't know if I'm doing anything right.

Which regulatory laws make sense? To me, none of them make sense. Hell, most laws in general don't make sense to me.

3:45 - 3:55 "Gary Vee: The reason why these jerks have so much money is cuz you keep buying their 'courses' over and over." I'm going on record to say this right now: Courses have become the new pr0n...only instead of watching pr0n and physically jerking it, we're watching courses and MENTALLY jerking it. I oughtta write a book about this or something cuz to me its scary. At least with pr0n its just dumb entertainment. You watch, you f4p, you're done. But courses...? Bruh, that spikes dopamine as much as pr0n does if not more.

Been living in Florida most of my life. It's pretty legit, tax rates are pretty low here. But then again I just do freelance writing. Don't have employees and stuff. I live in Tallahassee and living here is pretty cheap.

@netspacemedia It's not like that where I'm at in the US yet but I'm sure its gonna get there. I think for something like this Martial Law would be fine for a bit. Force me to chill in my apartment for two weeks? It goes against all my principles but it its gonna make things normal faster then do it. I'd even be good if they gave us curfews if it meant things were gonna return to normal faster. But I agree it IS unsettling and a VERY good sign that I need to move out of the west lol

I've added two more: 3) "I rely on (person/organization) for (happiness/income/esteem). No self respecting global citizen (or aspiring global citizen such as myself) should ever rely on ONE particular person for happiness, income, esteem, or anything. What if that person or organization stops existing tomorrow? And 4) "We need to do what's right for (insert entity here)." Again, this is an expression of external solutions which often have nothing to do with being a better person, making more money, being a global citizen etc. If you had a high ticket customer who paid you lots of money but didn't vote for who you wanted them to vote for, would you not do business with them based on that?
1
Kind of, but do you need to put in effort to handle and watch said apartment? That's what Andrew is talking about here.
1
It's not even that. It's becoming more like the USSR, where if you don't pay the bolsheviks they'll kill you. Even socialist places aren't like California. At least socialist places give you SOMETHING. The bolshevik assholes in California want to be the ONLY business in the state.

Well said dude. That's what I'm doing. I'm glad I have some hard and fast dates to help me now. When April begins the place I live is going to determine if restaurants can stay open and since I deliver for Bite Squad (as well as other stuff)I can use that info to see if everything is about to close or not. Until then I need to stack some serious cash while protecting myself from getting infected. Then if everything shuts down I can chill.

My dad used to shout at me "I DON'T KNOW IS NOT AN ANSWER!!" whenever I was young. Now that I'm self employed, I now know why he did lol.
1
@DigitalNomadOnFIRE That's if you can afford to take that kind of time off. I mean yeah if I had three months of expenses saved up I'd self quarantine until everything was back to normal lol.
