It isn't anecdotal at all, it is evidenced not only in history but throughout the world today. You cannot integrate a group that has radically different core beliefs into a society peacefully. Those 'few generations' can be extremely bloody ones, as they were to Europeans during migration periods. It would be best to avoid that. The reality is the top ten most peaceful countries in the world have extremely low levels of cultural diversity: Iceland, Austria (pre-migrant crisis), New Zealand (essentially just natives and Europeans), Portugal, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovenia, Japan/Singapore (tie) and Canada (although this is changing rapidly as crime has trended up in Toronto and Vancouver.) When we look at the ten least peaceful countries we see tribal divides over ethnicity, culture and religion take their toll: Syria, South Sudan (constant strife between Dinka, Nuer, Bari, and Azande), Iraq (even before the Iraq War the oppression of the Kurds), Afghanistan (before the Russian invasion there was widespread conflict between the Pashtun and Tajik), Somalia (tribal conflicts and religious wars), Yemen (civil war over religion and tribalism), CAR (civil war between Seleka and government), Ukraine, Sudan (tribal, religion), Libya. Nowhere near the least peaceful countries are Russia and Brazil (despite the fact that Brazil is very diverse, Caucasian, African, Natives, Pardo etc.) so I don't know why you pointed to them as particularly violent. What we see as common threads throughout history to today is that migration and the melding of cultures breeds violence and conflict. This is avoidable by simply closing off borders to mass migration of undocumented people from cultures incompatible with liberal Western values. Either the liberal among us honestly look at the situation and admit the problem of mass migration into our society or we let the far right dominate the conversation and set the policy that will eventually deal with it. The path of least violence is the best and that is one of simply not allowing undocumented mass migration into Western society.

Nobody, including myself, promotes factory farming. Clean, healthy meat is fantastic for the body. Every explosive athlete has meat in their diet. Fats from animals are super important. Most of the vegan food is not healthy at all, mostly starch and sugar. Grains, which are the root cause of a number of health issues, are a huge part of vegan diets. With a heavily grain- and sugar-based diet, we are suffering increased rates of obesity, cancer, diabetes, joint inflammation, heart disease and osteoporosis. All B vitamins are found in greater concentration in meats than in plant sources, and vitamin B-12 can only be found in animal sources. Lack of B vitamins is proven to cause confusion, impaired senses, aggression, insomnia, weakness, dementia, and peripheral neuropathy. Our bodies are genetically programmed for consumption of meat. It is how we evolved over 2 million years. Do you research and don't be a reactionary extremist. There are tons of us sourcing ethical meat from real farms and hunting.

I'm against any set standard of wage, low or high. At this point a high minimum wage will only result in A) more qualified people settling for the jobs the poor used to occupy because the money is so much better, and B) more automation, which simply eliminates those jobs and replaces them with very technical ones that the poor can't do. Either way, a high minimum wage punishes the very people it is trying to help. Let the market be free, and let people have a reason to seek self improvement. No one gives a shit about how you or anyone else wants the world to be. We are talking about economic reality. It is easy to be like you, or like I used to be, and claim that the government should enforce all these higher wages etc. Easy for you to say, you aren't the one who will pay for it. Snap back to reality and work hard, always improve your employable skills, start a business and forge yourself into a success. No one will ever look out for you except you, so stop wishing you lived in some socialist paradise that cannot, and will not ever exist.

People came together and built cities and infrastructure out of self preservation and later to accommodate greater economic output. Profit, basically. It isn't 'bitching,' as you so eloquently put it, to simply expect the same treatment as everyone else, regardless of how much money I make. Tax brackets are ultimately unfair. You basically say as much. You cannot legislate morality. If I had to pay a higher percentage of tax than someone who made half as much as I did, I wouldn't bother. Running a business is stressful, and is way more than 70 hours most weeks. If I only took home a small percentage more than the guy earning less, I would take a 40 hour a week job earning less. Money is the motivator. I don't owe you, or anyone else a living. Check you entitlement at the door and work hard like I did, and you WILL succeed. Keep whining about how the state is looking after you and prepare to whine for the rest of your life. High minimum wage will only result in A) more qualified people settling for the jobs the poor used to occupy because the money is so much better, and B) more automation, which simply eliminates those jobs and replaces them with very technical ones that the poor can't do. Either way, a high minimum wage punishes the very people it is trying to help. Let the market be free, and let people have a reason to seek self improvement. It is never your right to dictate that I owe more than anyone else or take the product of my labor by force. That is the very definition of tyranny.
