@CezarMS1 What exactly was the creator of nothing doing before he created something? Why did he take so long to create something from nothing? And the all important "Kick the can down the road question" that no Theist can answer is who created god? If everything that exists needs a creator, who created god? Wait, I know the answer...Man created God through a lack of knowledge. And those gaps in knowledge keep getting smaller and smaller.

@NimbleBard48 The problem with that argument is most Theist say the proof that (edit) "God" Exists is because we and the universe needed a creator in order to exist. If everything always existed, what makes god so special?

The94GTC See Question #1 - "Where did God come from"? Did he come from a Vacuum of nothing and if so how? Also, I have just asked some questions, I haven't really stated any hard and true beliefs.

@Wade-22 We can't Disprove God? WTF does that mean. There is no way you can not disprove there are Invisible Pink Elephants flying around my backyard. The onus is not on Atheists to disprove God, it's on Theists to prove it. And they can't, and they never have. "Not being able to disprove God" is a what...Oxymoron, Circular Logic...It's one of those terms that makes it a completely useless statement. Can you disprove I have millions of Angels that follow me around all day and guide me? But I am the only one that can see them and communicate to them. We have a diagnosis for that, it's called schizophrenia.

@mattmessuh I don't necessarily believe there was an internal past. There may be, but I am not saying definitively one way or the other. That being said I also don't agree with your concept that if there was infinite past it would be impossible to get to this moment. We're getting pretty deep in the weeds here but the bottom line is the Universe as we know it started at some point and had a beginning. Iif God created it, what was he doing for all that time before he created it? I'm just curious, that's all.

@Gnorde I'm not sure who said "everything always existed either" It wasn't me. But in terms of God creating everything. That is 100% your faith and not a fact.

@Wade-22 I don't know how old you are, but Pink Elephants have been mentioned and around for quite some time (As a concept). A concept that clearly you don't understand and completely missed the point of. You do understand what a Metaphor is, right? The problem I have with theists is they think everything that people can't explain 100% must be because of a god. Why? Why are so many people so arrogant that they think if some humanoid species on Earth can't explain everything, the only answer is god? Why do people think we are even capable of having all the answers? There is no evidence to suggest whatsoever that humans as they are can or should be able to explain everything about the universe and the fact that we can't is not prove of a god, it's just prove of our current ignorance and limitations. Like I said, it's just a god of the gaps and those gaps get smaller and smaller every decade. Initially mankind had nothing but gaps and they were all filled with gods. The Sun God, the Moon God, God of Thunder, etc, etc. once we learned what these things really were, that god vanished. The idea that we currently understand everything possible so the only explanation for what we don't understand must be god is a cop out and juvenile.

@markcoleman8236 If God didn't need a creator, than neither did the Universe, what's the difference? Other than your personal beliefs? Why can't theist just admit it's all about what you have faith in? None of you have anymore proof than anyone else. But one thing that is true, is God didn't exist until Humans created him in their minds, while the Universe existed well before that. That being said, I am far more likely to believe in some kind of "Other Force or Power" that was involved in the creation and maintenance of the Universe. One thing I 100% do not believe in is that, that power is the God of the Bible.

It's really convenient to use the "Cause and Effect" argument until it comes to your God. When it comes to that, suddenly that entire concept vanishes.

The Shitstorm Starter You're clearly smart, so how is your brain unable to comprehend that is a contradiction. Do we agree god is something? I assume yes, well you emphatically, even in all caps, say "Something CANNOT arise from nothing by itself" That's a quote from you. So either god is nothing, or something can arise from what we consider nothing. You're saying "you do know that something can not arise from nothing" But the truth is, you really aren't sure, it just something you have been told over and over again. Think for yourself. You're smart enough to know that Man is not capable of answering all the mysteries of the Universe. So don't settle on the saying that man came up with that "Something can't come from nothing". Clearly by your own belief's that is wrong. The unfortunate and real answer is "NO ONE KNOWS" and anyone that says they do has an agenda.

The Shitstorm Starter First off, God creating matter from nothing is based on faith and not based a fact. So there is that. So using it as a foundation for your argument is pretty meaningless. I'm not trying to be a dick, I am just following through on the logic of the argument. But it all comes back to the one simple concept, if Something can't come from nothing (Which Theists love to say) then where did God come from? Before having faith in God, I think that needs to be answered.

@mattmessuh Those are a real lot of meaningless concepts which again, are not fact, but come down to nothing but faith. Believe it if you want, but it's not a fact, it's just what you decided to believe it, like Muslims, Jews, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Evangelicals, Catholics etc, etc. You all have your own faith. Believe it if you want, but stop pretending it's a fact.

@mattmessuh Nice words. But that is nothing other than your personal faith. There is no proof that is true. It's just what theists say when they have no answer. Despite what you might think, you are not saying anything profound or anything I haven't heard a million times. The bottom line is, you have no clue and everything you are saying is based on your personal faith. Faith is not fact.
