@Jazox You are literally making my point for me. My entire point was you can't just transition to a Trade just because you lost your trucking job, or retail job or whatever. My point was, a Trade is a Skilled Position (Which you confirmed) that requires experience before you make any real money. Like you said, you are lacking in skilled tradespeople. I didn't say anything to contradict that. There is definitely a lack of skilled people in the trades. The key word is skilled. People can't just hop from flipping burgers to being master plumbers just because there is a lack of master plumbers, or carpenters etc. They need to start as an apprentice and work their way up. Are you paying Brand new guys off the street with no experience 50K a year, not including OT (That skews the stats of what the actual salary) The Salary should be based on base pay, not if you work 100 hours a week (I'm of course exaggerating to make a point)
So as I read it, you agree with me. The Trades are not some dumbed down job that anyone can just immediately transition to. And again, I don't know about your state, it varies state to state. But some States require a license before you can even go on a job site. In some cases, those can take over a year to get. How does a guy support his family, when his isn't skilled yet, can't get a license for a year and has to work as an apprentice at best, when he was making 50K+?
I work in the trades to. Electronics. I don't imagine too many truckers can just hop off the truck and start trouble shooting electronics. They would need at least the 2 years of Trades School that I had first. That was 10's of thousands of dollars. I was fortunate enough to work for a company as a complete novice and they were willing to help with some of the cost. But I was 18 years old. I doubt they would make that investment in a 50 year old.

Exec Utize I was asking, I don't know what he believes until he replies. I was asking because more often then not I find that people that are all for "Small Government" want the Government to tell people what they can do with their own bodies, be it Abortion, Smoking Weed, etc. So basically they don't want the Government involved until the Government is defending something they believe in, like Anti Abortion, Right to Guns, No Drugs, etc, etc. I can't say every single person that is small Government is against all those things, it will vary. But if you're small Government, they shouldn't be involved in any of those decisions. Those should be up to the individual.
Is Abortion Murder? Well that debate continues. However, I find that 99% of people that think it is, think so because of religious reasons and they believe life is sacred. But if you live in a country where you have Freedom of and Freedom from religion (Or at least you are supposed to) you're belief that life is sacred is irrelevant. So if you're religion doesn't believe abortion is okay, then don't have an abortion. But we have freedom from religion. And if someone doesn't believe life if sacred they shouldn't have your beliefs forced upon them. It goes both ways.
It's also kind of ironic that many of the small government supporters that are Anti Abortion, are also against most of the programs to support these kids and single Moms if they are born. Sorry to quote Seth Macfarlane (Via Family Guy), but if it works, it works. "They are all pro life until the kid is born, once he is born he is on his own and can go fuck himself"
