Where is the Studio Magic here Dave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIpHZo7BsT8 - Compare this to how you sounded live during many performances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JRcrtszjj0
If true Dave, then why do Eddie and so many other guitar players since make it look effortless when they play the same thing live as they did in the studio, unlike you? Dave is making it sound like it's a CGI Version of a guitar solo. But guitar players can actually play these solos live in real time with no special Track Bouncing etc. Good players can actually play it, it's not a studio trick. Sure, in the studio there may be multiple takes to take the best of the best for the sake of the album. But the guitar players can still pull it off live in real time, If you doubt that, just do a search on You Tube (Not Spotify) of people playing Eruption or the Solo from Running with the Devil (Which isn't really that hard, all things considered) and you will see, this playing is not some Marvel Comics Studio Magic like he is making it sound. It's pretty basic shit. The Worst part is Joe being like "Ah, now I get it, it's not as talented as I thought it was, it was just studio magic" This is really a disservice to some of the best guitar solos in the world. To be honest, the technique Dave is talking about applies far more to vocals than it does to guitar solos, and when you see a band live, you can tell, because it's always the vocals that sound far different then the album.
