I like how most people on Rogan's Podcast, including him have a serious problem with going back and holding someone accountable for a Tweet they may have left 5 years ago (And Rightfully so). They completely accept that the person can be completely different now or what they said may have been 100% acceptable at the time they said it, but is no longer considered acceptable. But these same people will go back over 150 years and criticize the ideas people had back then, about Slaves and White Supremacy etc. Because Thomas Jefferson had slaves and George Washington had slaves etc. That was considered normal for the time. The difference is how they treated them and that ultimately Lincoln (Who BTW is also considered a White Supremacist) fought for their freedom. While maybe, at that time in Human History, he may have had a limited understanding and actually believed Black people were inferior, he didn't think they should be treated like Animals like they were in the South. And if he was alive today, I highly doubt he would agree with what we consider a White Supremacist to be today. So just like it's not okay to go back and cancel someone for something they tweeted 5 years ago, it is also not okay to call someone a White Supremacist because of a 19th Century Belief system. These issues need to be put into context.

If only people "Stopped looking for things to pretend to be offended by" - Seriously, I don't think anyone could come up with a more condescending comment even if there was a contest. You officially won at being the most condescending, none sympathetic and completely heartless to anyone that feels differently than you do. I highly doubt these people are "Pretending" to be offended and more than you are "Pretending" to find it annoying. have you ever heard the phrase about spending a day walking in someone else's shoes? I highly doubt everyone is pretending to be offended. I'm not even one of those people you are referring to, but I find many of the comments and responses completely offensive. They are in face offensive by nature. So to be offended by them is completely normal.

@DeveStarr Something about your reply doesn't make sense. Can you clarify your point? I'm not excusing certain behaviors altogether, rather I am saying they need to be put into the context of the time in which they were held. The same way when I grew up in the 80's it was perfectly okay to say Fa**ot! and no one would care. But I would never say it today. But there was no twitter back then, so there is no record of me saying it. I am sure Lincoln and many others like him had ideas about race that we now consider completely outdated. But those ideals are over 150 years ago. It's hard to hold someone responsible for ideas they had 150 years ago anymore than holding me responsible for saying something normal in 1980 that is inappropriate today. And of course, I adjusted with the times, as I suspect someone like Lincoln would if he lived for 200+ years.
