Comments by "Tango Nevada" (@TangoNevada) on "Joe Rogan - Lyme Disease is Terrifying!!" video.
"Lyme Disease is Super Scary" - I had it for years and no doctors even tested me for it. My Knees were swelling up, my joints all hurt and my doctors just said 'That's the way some people are made". Eventually a Doc checked for Lyme and I tested positive for like 9 Antibodies, or some number that suggested I had it for years. Nothing has been right since. I Live 20 minutes from Old Lyme CT.

It's not even the tiny tick. It's the even smaller virus it transmits to you. The tick itself would otherwise be harmless. But I get your point. It's just the actual problem is microscopic, while you can at least see the ticks. with the naked eye.

@yonyosef No worries, I always get those backwards. Either way, they suck. I had the same problem. Doctors basically just told me I had shitty joints and that's how some of us are made. Meanwhile, at 35 years old my knees were swelling to the size of Footballs. Eventually I came across a doc that was like "Well shit, you probably have Lyme's disease, seeing as you live 20 minutes away from Old Lyme". He tested me and I had more Antibodies than he had ever seen, meaning I had it for years, without being diagnosed. You would think that if you live in CT, it would be the first thing to check for with these kind of symptoms.

Well, that is you're story and you should be grateful. But that doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. I got bit and didn't have symptoms for years. By then, they were out of control.

@yonyosef (Don't worry about it) Well that's debatable and that's the problem. I have had joint problems my whole life, even prior to being diagnosed with Lyme Disease. so are the ongoing joint problems from the Lyme or Genetics? No one knows. The problem is, some Doctors think a round of Antibiotics and your cured and that's it, others think (Like someone in my case) if you had it for a long time it can burrow into your joints and be an ongoing issue and the antibiotics don't work anymore. I'm in the later category. Now my Ankles are in constant pain, bad knees, my shoulders are totally fucked, etc. And I was very active prior to this. Martial Arts, etc. Now stairs can be an issue and I'm only 50. But it's hard to find a doctor that believes it's a lingering condition. Then explain why the fuck everything hurts when I was active and only 50 and have a perfectly fine diet.

@yonyosef Apparently all they can test for are the Antibodies. There is no actual test for Lyme Disease. The problem is, once you have those Antibodies, you always have them. So what if you get bit again? They now have to test for old antibodies vs new antibodies. And from what I understand, this isn't well understood. I just want the joint pain to stop without having to resort to medication for that. We all know where that Opium Trail leads.
