  1. Basically very similar reasons to do it and similar impossible beauty standards as in the West, I don't really think beauty standards in Japan are higher than here per se. I think Japanese women just take better care of themselves with 1 major factor of influence: being thin. Usually losing overweight kilos results in being more attractive, this matters a lot more than in countries like the USA where like 40% of the people are overweight. There's some genetics in play, I will admit, your average Japanese woman looks prettier than your average Wesern woman. Less sun exposure very likely also plays a role, the more sun you have, the more wrinkles you have on the face and the older you look. In countries were there's a lot of sun, I've noticed people look "older", the further you go in age, the worse it gets. Now, when I check Nobita's videos and other Japanese videos, I do notice, NOT all women are attractive, at best I'd say there's a bit more pretty women in Japan, but it's not too far off the West. Now it's noteworthy how beauty standards are purely a personal taste. If I go by my porn "experience", most girls in JAVs are cute, but very few are truly beautiful. When I watch Japanese youtubers you see "a bit of everything", Japan isn't that much different than other countries. Purely personally, I don't think it matters that much how you look, personality & confidence matters a lot more (for guys how much money you got is probably the best way to have a beautiful wife). As for the bullying, I'm (kinda of) good looking, but I'm short and yeah I was bullied at school too, but there's ways around it, in my own case I just had a thick skin, and I got into martial arts, those were my 2 solutions.
