I watch this video because of another addiction I have: plastic crack. Which means model kits, figures, action figures.
I just can't stop myself from buying more. Once they've arrived home, problem is kind of partially sold, once I got an entire series bought, it's solved, but I keep buying more and more, I discover new series and I want this and that, the obvious real downside is the cost of it all. It even had gotten out of hand at times in therms of cost.
It's a really weird addiction, you mentions getting over an addiction relaxing, well building & painting model kits is extremely relaxing and once you're done, it's such a satisfaction. I don't need to do it every week/month/year, there have been times where I was on a break, either not in the mood or just build & painted everything I wanted, I do need this hobby in my life, I can imagine living without it.
Aside the monetary cost, the other struggle I got is just spending hours and hours looking at stuff I wanna buy. Then it's on the way, it's all I think about, I see new releases I'm so excited, but I know it's something I want to buy. I try to budget but at times have gotten into trouble. Now the hobby room does have order, I got displays, it's all relatively clean too, I'm not a hoarder though it may seem this way for some people. Some may think I got too much, I do realize I have a lot, but the concept of too much or enough never comes to mind. It is all stuff I do enjoy, but I know deep inside that I'm so greedy, I always want more cool nerd stuff.
