Somewhat off-topic. I read something very interesting about an idea to prevent fake medicine being sold. It involved a qr code and some additional features at the point of sale. When a pharmacy sells medicin, the code would be scanned and a server would confirm that the manufacturer had made the medicine with this code. If memory serves, the code could not be recycled if it had already been used.

Uncirculated 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollar bank notes are expensive ~$350 on one site. Admittedly not fake but quite interesting anyway. Two guys managed to steal some new east Germany bank notes that were never issued and they are also highly desirable.

Constantin , ”Inside Russia” mentioned this currency in one of his videos. What he said was scary and you really don’t want to own too many yuans. I think you need not worry.

I read about the east german mark on Wikipedia before I made a comment to your previous video. It mentioned a currency reform in 1948 due to soviet counterfeiting the Allied Military Currency that had the Mark denomination. There can be no doubt that soviet did this to destabilise the west sector. I also know that nk makes lots of fake bank notes, mostly dollars but for other reasons. These notes, most of them, are sold to criminals who know they are fake and nk gets something in return like oil or electronics. I had some American bank notes that I decided to exchange and some of them were rejected and I think at least one may have been a fake. Some had stains and may have been stolen from an ATM or similar. I now have a UV lamp which is very useful to detect suspicious notes. Alas, nk has real machines to create notes and all the ingredients needed so they are very hard to detect.

I found that couonterfeit Confederate States Dollar was sometimes superior in quality compared with the real thing. The reason was that the the Southern states didn’t have good printing equipment. Usually, it’s the other way round.

If memory serves, i think it worked something like this. Say, you want to buy medicine and you go to a legitimate pharmacy. The pharmacy would scan the code and respond that the code was indeed valid and no sale had been made using this code. Once confirmed at the point of sale, there would be an entry that would say the medicine had been sold. A buyer would also have an app that could be used but it would just see the history. If you think the seller isn’t honest and the code was recycled, you would use your app and it would tell you that the code had been used before and the date.

The russian soldiers in Ukraine use cigarettes and vodka as money.

According to intercepted phone valls, I think, Ukrainians have sold vodka to russians that had some ”additives” that made it ”incompatible” with their digestion system.

Usually, a combination of cotton and linen is used. I have no idea what russia use but it doesn’t really matter. You definitely have a point

It depends on what country you talk about. Certainly true in Sweden but I notice that Germans and Swiss like real money. They really don’t like places where cash is not accepted. In russian countryside, I think internet connection is slow and unreliable if it exists at all.
