Hi Steve, I joined a new company 2 years ago. Since joining, I've been regularly asking my manager for feedbacks. He always told me, I am doing great, and I just need to keep doing what I am doing. At the end of year, I was excited for my review, and found out it is a passing grade with zero exceeding. I also have tried to get more engagement with the product design and asked for more responsibilities and to be included in conversations, and he always said he agrees, but nothing was improving and I am still not included in conversations and many times clueless of what is going on, and I am always given trivial work. I've also talked to him about promotion since I had been in the industry for 10+ years. First time he said we don't do promotions unless you have been here for long and make large influence, which is arguably fair but I also feel stuck since I believe I have the capability to go to the next level, and I would have to wait longer in the team by the sound of it. Plus I am not making as much influence as I wanted because I was often given trivial work instead of opportunities for influential work. What should I do? I talked to him multiple times about the points I mentioned above already, and I have not seen any actions being done from his end.
