  1. The issue is the coding questions in the first round from FAANG are the same across all levels. Senior and higher level will have a hard time solving textbook algorithm questions because we haven't touched that for a long time. E.g. we all know what heap sort is, how it works and the time complexity, but to write one with fast speed might fall short. Leetcode is definitely necessary in that sense. I don't think the textbook questions should be the questions for senior engineers but it is the fact now and have to accept it.
