Speaker coil in your phone picking up strong local signal the signal was likely still there when your call connected but the drive from the phone to the speaker wiped it out, some of the really cheap ebike controllers in the past coupled to a cheap motor put out very wideband interference that would do this to cell phones, no need to call Mulder and Scully on this one 😎
