@ls-l1518 It’s sad but I do believe you are right. People have the right to resettle in other countries to get a better life, but when one specific faith starts to outweigh the native ones and can be more hard-line or intolerant than the one that came before, then the balance of people who think they are right versus those who actually live need to clean the country can become unstable. We naturally want to tolerate other faiths, as we believe it adds more to our own, but when the other faith doesn’t want to even try to integrate or is more extreme or intolerant of others, then there’s no way it can be compatible. We’ve tried again and again without any success. Muslim faith doesn’t seem to want to blend with others, but just harass and suppress other ones. I try to keep an open mind and I am not far right. I just tried to observe what I see around me and it feels like this is indeed what is happening.

I couldn’t agree more. This report felt very obscure and although they kept saying it was far right members, it seems like honestly half or the majority of them were of Muslim or middle eastern descent! We know that Muslim people feel very strongly about their faith and this kind of response is apparently not to unheard of for when someone burns or even threatens to burn their holy book. I know we don’t always have the right to judge other cultures or religions when they are not necessarily harming others emotionally or physically (something which is a dangerous line to cross for people of some faiths), but I do have to say it is massive overkill in this case.

I totally agree there. It feels the same in Britain as well as a lot of us in France. If you’re going to move to a country then you should understand that you are going to have to integrate, not just move into your own bubble and hope that you can keep doing exactly what you did before. It’s sad to say, but if you don’t understand this then you shouldn’t be coming here at all. And if you are going to integrate yourself, then you should at least try to tolerate those around you as the natives do themselves. If this fails, then these groups in Sweden and other countries have exactly the right point.

@arfon2000 Too true unfortunately. My family is traditionally Christian. Church of England but I am very much an atheist. But I do believe that if a Bible is bad in front of me, I can understand it to be offensive but I would never ever go on a riot because of it because I would understand that it is still just purely a piece of paper.

I couldn’t agree more. This kind of rioting absolutely removes the good name of Sweden and should not be acceptable anymore.

@nikomanagn5112 I couldn’t agree more. People keep judging what they determine to be for right now every time it is no longer in line with their own opinions. It doesn’t show tolerance for other ideas but simply bashing down of others when it isn’t what they consider to be absolute liberalism. I believe fully in democracy, freedom and a mix of socialism and liberal beliefs, but I can’t deny the facts I see before me. Facts and numbers do not lie, no matter how much we might want to fight against them. It’s like when we don’t like death and it breaks our hearts. Death is cruel, but we have to still accept that it is going to happen. So why is it that people think they can just ignore everything else. There are obviously many far right groups out there, but as time has gone on it feels like more and more or less far right and are simply people who are genuinely concerned about real facts that are becoming more and more plainly obvious around Europe due to environmental damage and an over population of immigration levels.

@Macgyrl64 ItIsn’t probably just the different gods people believe in but also the cultural elements and societal norms that come with that faith. You can be Christian and still act like everybody else, but when you are Muslim it is much much harder and there are demands on both men and women to act in certain ways that are obviously not in line with the vast majority of European, American and other western developed nations values.

I agree. It’s understandably a dangerous subject considering how much people are obviously on the teetering edge of everything falling apart, but it does feel plain obvious to me that there is nothing more different than Sweden and Muslim faiths. They both look different in architecture, culture and beliefs. Sweden doesn’t even have a massive multicultural history of mixing of cultural elements and people like this so it feels obvious that it was not going to work out.

I am really shocked about this. It feels really alien when you picture Sweden. Although honestly when looking at these rioters it’s hard to tell that they are members of the far right group or whether they are rioters in response to the action or alleged threat of burning the Quran book.
