I hope it starts asap. They need to get their best and most dynamic people on this right now to make up for lost time.

This’s truly absolutely TERRIFIC NEWS. Let’s now get those Ukrainian crews over here so their new training on these modern tanks ‘can truly begin’. 👏🏻 WE NEED TO START ASAP.🇬🇧❤️🇺🇦💪🏼

HERE HERE. I can’t Wait to see these babies finally being used for what they were intended for. The Leopard 2s and MOST OF ALL the Challenger 2s. I’m sure even in small numbers they can still make a big difference, head-on against the fighting force or any of the T-series tanks really.

Too right. The Challenger 2, even in small numbers will still really kick ass for quite a long time before they could eventually be knocked out. Most likely some will indeed be lost, but hopefully they can still make a difference, along with eventually the Leopard 2s in the long run.

@David-ec2qp Yes I have the same worries. Thankfully though replacing the tracks will be the least of thing to do. It’s other equipment that could be a problem. A lot of crews will have to be moved from other units in order to do this and that is a lot of logistics lost so they will have to train a lot of newbies as well to do this work to prevent any major loss of necessary crews on the front lines. whether they will have fresh recruits trained on how to maintain the Challenger tank or use veterans instead, who would be better at adapting to the new way of doing things and just having new people take over the old equipment instead, they are perhaps more familiar with is up for debate, and we probably won’t find out until later on when they are actually in Ukraine. The biggest thing we’ve got to make sure is that Ukraine can be guaranteed a continuous supply of the necessary spare parts, and that if crews can’t do regular repairs in Ukraine, then they can be repaired by British crews in a neighbouring country. Most of all, though, we’ve got to make sure that the Challenger 2 get the ammunition it needs, as the ammunition it uses isn’t available currently in Ukraine.
