All I can say is that this is a looong time coming. I just hope they can train the Ukrainian forces fast enough on these and they’ll have enough backup missiles to reload them. This needs to be reinforced as well otherwise it’ll be no good long term. The German equipment will allow them to actually ‘protect the cities’ that are needed thank goodness (something that has been needed since WEEK ONE), while the US long range rockets can be used to attack the Russian rocket systems and aircraft that are hampering the Ukrainian efforts to hold their cities and move forward.

We need to be sending everything we’ve got ASAP. We can’t keep being the ones holding our own weapons to our chests when we aren’t even going to bloody well use them. Give them to those who need them most or use them ourselves. It’s as simple as that.

Yeah this does feel kind of likely. The German Chancellor is so hopeless. I’m glad he’s finally made this announcement but he’s definitely doing it thanks to a lot of pressure from everybody else to get him to stop being such a spineless coward. Germany is apparently supposed to be training Ukrainians in Germany on how to use the mobile armoured howitzer vehicles which started over about two weeks ago now but haven’t heard anything from them since. Plus they are supposed be sending surface-to-air missile vehicles as well, but those apparently won’t be arriving until appallingly mid or early July.We need to keep an eye on the German army and the chancellor to make sure this is indeed happening.

☠ ᒪ𝕠𝓖𝐚𝐧 Here here. No that would be best. German systems to protect the skies over the cities and help keep the Russians at bay, while the US equipment can help to actually pummel the Russians more precisely with less collateral damage and allow the Ukrainian forces to move forward.

@Kurt_kh REALLY? According to the information we got about two weeks ago now, apparently Germany does intend to send them and apparently, unfortunately, they won’t be in Ukraine until about early July. This is still very late but I still hope this does indeed mean they will be going over there. Ukraine critically needs this system ASAP on the front lines and to protect cities.

@Chester Thanks for the correction. If this is indeed true then I am surprised the BBC would make a mistake like this. It would also be hugely disappointing as this would be a system capable of actually protecting a very large area of the cities that are needed. Hope this is proved to be correct in the coming hours, as although the Gepard anti-aircraft vehicles would be a great help, and hopefully will indeed be arriving in early to mid July, I still hope that this other rocket system will be arriving from Germany as soon as possible. The Germans are incredibly stickler for training so we Gotta hope this can be done sooner rather than later as they are still supposed to be sending over their mobile armoured howitzer units to Ukraine as well and training on those should’ve started a few weeks ago now in Germany.

@nzuncovered1845 Don’t talk BS Russian bot. Germany has been slacking on its military commitments for a long time and the Chancellor is having to pay for his election. His government, let alone his whole country wants to help but he’s dragging his feet along the whole time from his spinelessness when other nations directly on the border with Russia are helping even more, whilst Germany itself actually has the advanced equipment needed to make a long-term difference, even if it is in lesser number.

@chan13153 I couldn’t agree more.
