@Prince Charles It really does feel sometimes like it is a case of manipulating white guilt in order to get whatever you want when there is no real ground for it. These islands are British indeed and although these people definitely have the right to move back they do not have any true legitimacy for individual sovereignty, let alone being taken over by the neighbouring countries who think they somehow own it just because it’s nearby when they never had sovereignty over those islands to begin with. Designs are British and people need to get over it whether they like it or not. Facts are facts. It feels like the world doesn’t like to accept that anymore when it clashes with their own agendas.

Actually I’m afraid you’ve got a lot of those facts wrong. It’s not their ancestral home. These people are descendants from Europeans who moved there as part of our British colonial exploits in populating his islands which has been hugely successful over the centuries. These are not having that always been British territories and there is no ground for them change from that through one form of guilt which is being hypocritical used by the neighbouring countries. People may not like to sit out loud, but we are not entirely on these peoples side. They have the right to move back, but these islands are still very much British territory and we are on that side of things.

Here here. Forced relocation was not okay, but for Mauritius to claim that these are its islands when they have never been so and simply to believe they are just because they are close by is complete hypocrisy and by that logic Argentina should own the Falkland Islands. There is nothing wrong with having territories that far away from you as they only add to the diversity of what makes a country unique. We showed the world we were not going to back down when we took the Falkland Islands back and we should be willing to defend our sovereignty over these islands as well whilst allowing these people to return and helping them to thrive.

@davidnoelfranks1124 Again, people like to jump on that bandwagon without actually looking at the facts because it’s easy to just label everything is one thing rather than being grey. These islands have in fact always British territory and colonised by dark and ethnically original European settlers from Britain almost 200 years ago. In actuality the vast majority of British territories in the past have been created through settling in new lands rather than being stolen. There is nothing to feel guilty here about for the vast majority of all of our territories except for how these people were eventually forced to leave after being settled here for so long. They have every right to move back but they should still remain part of British territory and some form of white guilt should not be so selfishly and hypocritical used to claim ownership by another country. This nonsense needs to end before it gets completely out of hand across the whole planet. That kind of thinking can only lead eventually to all countries becoming disbanded in one form or another. Eventually countries need to have the guts to just hold onto what they actually believe or know is their own.

@jeremyhall2727 It’s The truth though. These islands always have been in fact British territory and a lot of these facts are purely being used selectively to gather favour from one side in order to claim some misguided sovereignty from one of the neighbouring countries that is basically wanting to impose its own mini colonial ambitions. Many small island nations are fallen victim to this as well and many of them unfortunately will eventually become victims of China in the long run which is something we all need to look out for now.
